A two-day festival geared towards promoting and protecting the legacy of the Hon. Louise Bennett-Coverley.
Friday, October 4 will feature academic panel discussions on Miss Lou’s influence on dub poetry and folklore.
Family fun day and concert showcasing traditional and contemporary presentations that celebrate “we culture” with a “Clap Yuself" Children's Zone; live entertainment, sponsor booths and other activities.
The day will feature a curated Louise Bennett-Coverley Poetry Competition;
Open Mic for new and upcoming performers and poets;
Traditional Folk Form performances by schools and dance groups;
Awards presentation to Professor Mervyn Morris and Marjorie Whylie, for their contribution to the legacy of the Hon. Louise Bennett-Coverley;
Established and up-coming musicians and a well-known headline act.
The event will be live streamed to facilitate the participation of individuals in the Diaspora.
